Auction Types

There isn’t just one type of auction. Not at IAA, at least. We practice several different auction models to make sure our buyers have access to a wide range of inventory.

Public Auctions

With more than 50 auctions open to the public, IAA makes it easy to buy your next vehicle at auction.

Public Auction

  • Gain access to thousands of vehicles every week at an IAA public auction.
  • Buy vehicles at wholesale, market values.
  • Registered public buyers can bid at these IAA locations.

Live and Online

As our leading auction model, the live and online auction connects onsite buyers at one of our branch locations and buyers joining through the internet, resulting in a lively bidding environment.

Live and Online

  • More than 170+ IAA branch locations in North America make it convenient for you to bid onsite.
  • Can't make it? By joining a live auction through the internet and real-time audio broadcasts, you won't miss a minute of the action.
  • With this dual auction model, you have the flexibility to bid and buy the way you want.

Online Exclusive

Some units are so special that we sell them as an online exclusive. IAA regularly schedules online-only auctions to feature specific inventory.

Online Exclusive

  • Gain access to specific inventory through a regular, online-exclusive auction.
  • The inventory in these auctions includes a wide range of vehicles to suit every type of buyer.
  • Our reoccuring Online Exclusive: Work and Play auction features trucks and other recreational vehicles.

Offsite Sales

When necessary, IAA hosts offsite auctions to sell vehicles directly from their holding area – including rental lots or catastrophe event overflow space.

Offsite Sales

  • These special auctions provide an opportunity for buyers to get access to the specific inventory you need.
  • Since the auction is conducted from the vehicle's original location or holding lot, you don't have to wait for a vehicle to be transported to an IAA location before the auction.
