Summary

Volkswagen is putting full force behind its shift to electric vehicles after its bout of diesel engine and emissions-cheating scandals. Chief Executive Officer Matthias Mueller announced plans to build electric versions of all 300 models in the 12-brand lineup. They will spend upwards of 20 billion euros by 2030 to roll out these vehicles, with an additional 50 billion euros spent on batteries. Volkswagen’s plan is currently the most ambitious in the auto industry.
