We’ve been around for quite a while, and we love what we do. IAA has been a trusted partner of insurance companies, fleet and rental firms, financing companies, auto dealers and the general public since 1982. Today, our headquarters reside just outside of Chicago in Westchester, Illinois. We’ve built more than 170 corporate-owned auctions across the U.S. and Canada with plans to continue to expand and grow.
Connecting buyers with the vehicles they need is an effort that starts at the top and carries through to our entire company. These are the individuals who set the tone.
John W. Kett is CEO and President of Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. A member of the KAR senior leadership team, he has helped IAA grow into an international company, nearly tripling its corporate-owned auction facilities with over $900 million in annual revenue. He sits on the board of directors for SkillsUSA Illinois and was awarded the prestigious Pat Dalton Outstanding Achievement Award at the 52nd Annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. He received a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University.
Tim O’Day is the Chief Operating Officer for Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. after serving as the company’s Senior Vice President of Finance. He brings nearly 30 years of finance, operations and general management expertise to the IAA team. Tim joined IAA in 2015 as the Senior Vice President of Finance at IAA. Prior to his arrival, he worked for nine years as COO and then CFO for MedSpeed, the leading national healthcare transportation and logistics provider. Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University.
Sidney L. Kerley is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc., where he leads general legal affairs, including SEC compliance and filings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and litigation. His team works in concert with state and federal governments to facilitate legislation and regulation that ensures responsible business conduct and drives healthy expansion of the industry. Sidney received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management, his J.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.
Jeanene O’Brien is Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Buyer Development at Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc., where she leads all marketing efforts, including branding, public relations, advertising, market research, sales-enablement and event programs. She analyzes and reports business and economic trends that impact the salvage industry, aligning IAA’s expertise and leadership. Jeanene is a member of the Women’s Industry Network and holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Wooster (Ohio). She earned her master’s degree in market research and advertising from Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business.
John D. Krupnik is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc.. He leads IAA’s award-winning business technology team along with managing a hybrid auction platform, all software development, information services functions, computer operations and telecommunications. Under John’s leadership, IAA was recognized by InformationWeek Elite 100 – a list of the top business technology innovators in the U.S. John holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Eastern Michigan University.
Terry Daniels is the Managing Director of Impact Auto Auctions, Inc., where he leads global market development and salvage management services for the IAA subsidiary in Canada. Terry served as the COO of Impact from 2000 to 2002, and again from 2004 until he took over the Managing Director role in 2006. Prior to joining Impact, he was the IT Manager at ADESA Canada (1998-2000) and later was ADESA’s CIO (2002-2003). Terry has significant experience in a wide variety of IT- and operations-related fields, including mining, retail and the Canadian public sector. A graduate of Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Terry has also served as a board member with the AASC.
Don Hermanek is Senior Vice President and Chief Client Officer for Insurance Auto Auctions, Inc. A veteran of the insurance and automotive industries for more than 35 years, Don joined IAA in 2000 as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and assumed his current role in 2008. In this position, he develops and cultivates IAA’s mature, global buyer base and manages industry relations. Don is a proud member of the board of directors for SkillsUSA Illinois and the board of trustees for Collision Repair Education Foundation He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
